The Oakland Art Murmur takes place every month on the first Friday. It is spread out across different art galleries in Oakland with the majority of them being near Telegraph and Grand Avenue. It is a place where you can walk from gallery to gallery and enjoy fresh exhibits, art, clothing articles and other local artist created things. You can even drink in the galleries! Wine tasting is often abundant.

The Oakland Art & Soul Festival is coming up!
Date: August 2012 (Exact date has not been announced yet)
Location: Downtown Oakland off Broadway and 14th.
Admission: $15(2011)
So far no date, lineup or cost has been announced for the Oakland Art and Soul Festival 2012.
However last year the price increased of previous years to $15 and the lineup seemed to decrease in crowd drawing acts. So we’ll see how it goes this year. We can only hope for the best.
I will keep you posted as soon as a date is announced for Oakland Art And Soul 2012.
The Oakland Slam is still going and not only is it a Poetry Slam now but it is also often a Comedy Slam. The nights are still Thursdays but they tend to vary so you’re going to have to check out their Facebook for most relevant times and dates.
