BART Strike Bay Area Rapid Transit Strikes
So that’s it guys, our beloved BART that we ever so HEART has left us in the DARK. They are going on strike Monday August 17th 2009….. How will we get to work? Do they care? Do they know what they are doing to us loyal supporters?
Do they realize they get paid more than most of us riders? Do they realize it actually cost MORE to take BART and bus to work on a daily routine than it does to drive? I have given up on BART and started driving again. They have really pissed me off this time.
I remember loving BART as a kid and still being a BART advocate. I got to do a report on anything I would like when I was in 7th grade and I chose BART of all things. I even got an A+. It’s funny because I found it a few years back and was looking through it. What seemed so far away in the future back then was all these new stations they planned on building… They are now all old stations!
Anyways I always encourage BART, never go to SF for all night partying without BARTing even if it means zombie mode waiting till 8am for that first train. I have constantly been disappointed that they are not 24/7 or at least later. I have recently heard this may be due to Union punks not willing to work late. Hell for $30 an hour I’ll do it! You guys stop crying and do your job so we can get to our jobs.
So where does that leave us the commuters? Using 511.org? Riding the Bus? Ferry? Amtrak? Heavier traffic jams on the freeways?

I myself have decided to just drive. I hope the traffic doesn’t increase. 180,000 displaced BART riders will now commute in unknown ways!
