2015 Update!
They finally put a statement on their website after a few years saying they were unable to secure a venue and will keep trying.
So yeah, good bye.
Well, they claimed they would come back in 2013 and maybe even to San Francisco.
But clearly the time has passed and there was no Love Evolution 2013 in San Francisco or Oakland.
They also gave no updates. How rude and unprofessional.
I think we can consider it canceled forever.
Initially, they gave no real information and it seems more like a way to keep the name and hype alive in case they do ever pull it off again.
They failed to host a 2012 and claim it is because the city of SF did not give them the green light in time.
It seems more likely it was due to the massive $40 ticket fail in Oakland for 2011.
’12 Did not happen.
Is San Francisco(or Oakland) going to host Love Evolution in 2012? So far it seems like it’s not happening.
The last update from the official Twitter and Facebook makes it seems as if it were the end.

THANKS TO THOSE THAT SUPPORTED THIS EVENT AND THIS MOVEMENT. We love you.
Love Evolution The End?
They say supported the event and the movement as if it is over. Not “who support” or continue to but supported the movement as if it is a thing of the past.
Well, maybe it is a thing of the past. In 2011 Love Evolution moved to Oakland and went from an annual free event to a $40 event and suffered big time due to poor weather and a steep price from what used to be a free festival. Whether or not the weather was good it was destined for doom. 90+% of my friends had not planned on going. These are people that used to host floats and after parties.
I did go though, I and the small group I went with didn’t plan on going either but we found a way in for free and decided why not.
I must say it was the lowest attendance I have ever seen at a Love Parade, Love Fest or Love Evolution. Whatever you want to call it. I have been to all of them from the very beginning and never has it been this dismal. The sad thing is the event deteriorated fast over the years after moving to the Civic Center. The crowd got younger and younger and showed up in larger and larger groups. It went from a great festival like Love Parade to some giant Skills like party full of kids under the age of 18. It was quite tragic to lose such an amazing event that had so much potential. Once Love Evolution finally made it 18+ it was too late, they started charging $40 and moved it to Oakland. For me no thing, I love Oakland. For most that was a deal breaker. If Oakland wasn’t the deal breaker then the $40 tickets were for the rest.
Questions people want to know about Love Evolution ’12:
Could Love Parade ever recover?
Will they announce a date and location?
Will it be in Oakland again?
Will they keep the little kids out(18+)?
Will they charge an arm and a leg?
Will real world renown DJ’s play this event or just the local repeats scratching each others backs so Skills can host a really expensive after party?

Will you go?
What if it cost $40 again?
Do you think it is even happening?
When was your first year?
Have you skipped any years?

I went in 2009 and 2011. The difference was crazy and so not worth the ticket price. I did love everybody as you should always do at any PLUR event but it was not the same. I want the old Love Evolution. After seeing footage of 08 I was very excited about 09.
OaklandMofo says
Yeah, 2011 was the biggest failure of an event I ever went to and I got in for free.
Love Parade, Fest, Evolution, whatever it morphed into by 2011 was not in the slightest bit anything like the first one in 2004.

I went in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed the LovEvolution event. I found the people friendly, warm, loving, and celebrating the values of Peace, Love, Understanding, and Respect that are so needed. I just wish we could secure better funding, so that this annual celebration of dance and PLUR culture will continue. Be well, all!

The majority of people I came in contact with were acting no better than wild animals. They were disrespectful, drunk, mostly naked, and acting like fools. Please, find another city to abuse and take you “LoveFest” somewhere else.
OaklandMofo says
While I agree, that is every single event in San Francisco from Hardly Strictly to Pride and any other festival.
You let hundreds of thousands of drunk people go wild in one place with good music and people will act like fools.

Me! I am going! There are WAY more things going on than this too… You’re hella missing out if you don’t come check it.

I am molesting OaklandMofo at Love Fest this year!
